Who is Daniel Santangeli?
Daniel Santangeli is a theatre director and arts manager.
Daniel’s theatre practice focuses on devising immersive performances. His works include Wheyface (Next Wave Festival, 2012), Room 328 (Melbourne Fringe Festival, 2011; Metro Arts, 2010), DJ While You Sleep (Judith Wright Centre, 2010) and Several Words Associated with Revenge (Metro Arts’ Independents Program, 2008). After graduating from Queensland University of Technology with first class honours in 2007, Daniel went on to work with CIRCA’s youth ensemble.
Daniel has been mentored by CIRCA’s Yaron Lifschitz as well as dramaturge and director Chris Ryan (made possible through Australia Council’s JUMP Mentoring Program).
Daniel is currently Artistic Program Producer at Next Wave. Prior to this role, he worked with Next Wave as Program Coordinator on public programming and Australia Council’s JUMP Mentoring Program. Previously Daniel has managed Backbone Youth Art’s 2high Festival (2010) and curated Metro Arts’ two-night arts event, CROSS STITCH (2011). He is currently a board member of Outer Urban Projects.
